Injectables Q & A

Which injectables treat lines and wrinkles on the face?

Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery offers Botox and Dysport for common lines and wrinkles found on the upper third face, such as the forehead, between-brow (11s), and around-the-eye lines (crow’s feet). Both are neuromodulators derived from Clostridium botulinum, which causes mild paralysis in the muscles where it’s injected.

Botox and Dysport were the first and second of this type of product designed to force muscle relaxation below your skin, which smooths away lines from muscle contractions. Botox is FDA-approved for between-brow lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet around your eyes. Dysport is FDA-approved for between-brow lines.

You can still move your face after having Botox or Dysport injections, but it takes extra effort to do so. Think of your Botox or Dysport injections as a built-in reminder not to keep frowning heavily, squinting your eyes, and furrowing your brow!

Most patients get the full effects of Botox around five to seven days after the treatment. Dysport tends to take effect a few days before Botox. Botox and Dysport both last for around three to four months on average. Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery offers special discount days as well as other special offers on these products from time-to-time and participates in both Brilliant Distinctions and Aspire Rewards programs.

Which injectables plump and contour the lips?

Two hyaluronic acid fillers, Restylane Silk®, and Juvéderm Volbella® are made especially for the delicate lip area. Both formulas can smooth out lines and add subtle volume in and around the lips. Both products have FDA indications that last longer (Restylane Silk for six months and Juvéderm Volbella for up to a year), Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery has patients that repeat this treatment every six months.

For more significant volume or dramatic lip reshaping, options include other hyaluronic acid fillers, Restylane®, Juvéderm Ultra® XC and Juvéderm Ultra Plus® XC. Each is indicated to last about a year. All lip injectables give you instant volume.

Which injectables treat wrinkles?

Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery offers a range of injectables for instantaneous facial wrinkle smoothing.

Bellafill

Bellafill is FDA-approved to smooth smile lines (nasolabial folds) for up to five years. Creates an area where your own collagen can develop. May also be used in other areas.

Juvéderm Ultra XC & Ultra Plus XC

These injections are FDA approved and last up to a year. Usually used in the nasolabial folds, corners of lips and marionette lines (from corners of lips down). Patients normally have this treatment repeated every six to eight months. Ultra XC may also be used in the lips, which is a great solution if you’re treating multiple areas.

Juvéderm Vollure XC

FDA approved. Lasts up to 18 months. Also indicated for the nasolabial folds.

Juvéderm Voluma

FDA approved. Lasts up to two years. Normally used in the cheeks; it plumps the cheeks and gives a subtle lift.

Restylane

Was the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler for cosmetic use. Used in nasolabial folds. Can last up to 18 months. Most patients are re-treated in six to 8 months. (The 18-month duration does not indicate the entire product used will remain for that amount of time.)

Restylane Lyft

FDA approved. Indicated for use in the cheeks - provides fullness and a subtle lift. Lasts up to a year.

Restylane Refyne

FDA approved. Softens nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Lasts 8 to 12 months.

Restylane Defyne

FDA approved. For correction of moderate to severe deep facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Lasts 8 to 12 months.

The most common area for facial wrinkles is the nasolabial folds, the grooves that frame your nose and mouth as you age. These injectables can also smooth away drooping lines at the corners of your mouth.

Which injectables restore cheek volume?

Many men and women suffer from midface volume loss as they age, and there are a couple of hyaluronic acid fillers made for that specific area. Juvéderm Voluma® and Restylane Lyft® both restore volume in a natural way. Voluma lasts up to two years, and Lyft lasts over a year. Restylane Lyft is also the only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler for use in aging hands.

Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery also offers Kybella®, an injectable that works like liposuction to dissolve fat under the chin and in the upper neck.

Injectables can truly transform your face in a matter of minutes, with no recovery time needed at all. Schedule your consultation at Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery online or by phone today.
