VI Peel

What is a VI Peel?

Through our in-house partner Be. Clinical Spa, we are excited to offer our patients the VI Peel This amazing peel is a different type of peel from the “old school” peels that were painful and required weeks of downtime. Now you can get dramatic results without the pain or lengthy healing process. The VI Peel is a safe and highly effective medium-depth chemical peel.

The VI peel is composed of five rejuvenating acids: TCA, Retin-A, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, and Vitamin C. It can be used to treat all skin types (Fitzpatrick I-VI) and improves the following in about a week:

  • Active Acne
  • Sun damage and signs of aging
  • Reduces large pore appearance
  • Hyperpigmentation and melasma
  • Acne scarring
  • Tone and texture

What To Expect

The application only takes about 30 minutes to apply in the spa.

First, we will cleanse your skin with acetone to remove all surface oils. Then, we will apply the skin’s first layer of the VI Peel solution.

It is normal to experience a stinging feeling for a few seconds. The remaining solution is applied a little at a time until absorbed into the skin.

Your skin will appear a bit darker and may feel tight. You must not apply anything else to the skin (even sunscreen!) after you leave the spa.

Set a timer to cleanse your face after 4 hours and begin following your aftercare instructions. Peeling occurs typically between days 3-7 depending on skin type and condition.

VI Peel Recovery Time

For the first 24 hours, your face may appear red and mildly swollen. It is also normal for brown spots and acne spots to appear darker as they are brought to the surface of the skin.

Vigorous exercise should be avoided for the first 48 hours as sweating could affect the results of the peel. You should also continuously wear sunscreen with an SPF of 50 or above and avoid direct sun exposure during the peel.
Post Peel Protectant can be applied to help with itching and the noticeable appearance of peeling.

Loose skin can be carefully trimmed with scissors, but be careful not to pull on it. Once your new “baby” skin is fully healed you will notice a smoother, clearer, and more tone-balanced complexion.
