Dr. Kristi Sumpter named one of Houston's Top Docs for 2008 by H Texas magazine. Article below.

With her dedication to patient care and an emphasis on exceeding expectations, being named again to H Texas' Top Docs is an honor for Dr. Kristi Sumpter.

"Patient care continues to grow in importance as people are more informed and have more options," said Dr. Kristi Sumpter. "This creates a great environment where patients know quite a bit about what interests them."

Dr. Sumpter enjoys that individuals have unique reasons for being interested. "Each has her or his own goals. Each has a different story. They need to know how a procedure or two of interest would work for them."

Offering free consultations, Dr. Sumpter often spends 45 minutes to an hour with each initial consultation. Beyond first impressions, it helps develop clear communication to understand the desired result, and discuss other potential options.

Her dual training, certification and privileges allow Dr. Sumpter to work with breast cancer patients throughout their journey - from cancer removal surgery to reconstruction.

Dr. Sumpter has involved with two silicone implant studies and through patient education and interaction finds that there is almost a 50-50 split between patients choosing saline and patients choosing silicone implants.

Dr. Sumpter is board certified by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and has full cosmetic surgery and general surgery privileges at two hospitals and three certified ambulatory surgery centers in northwest Houston.
