On the day of your procedure, you will be asked to be at your facility of choice one hour prior to surgery time. Dr. Sumpter primarily uses Cy Fair Surgery Center, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital and Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center. Your options for a facility can be further discussed in your consultation. You will not be able to eat or drink anything from midnight the night prior to your surgery day until after your surgery.

You will check in with the facility and the surgical support staff will assist you in preparing for your surgery. Dr. Sumpter will see and meet with you prior to surgery.

Following surgery, it will be up to the surgical support staff and Dr. Sumpter to allow your release so that you may be taken home. It can take approximately an hour following the actual surgery time.

It is important to note that you will not be able to drive yourself home following surgery. It is not necessary for someone to wait at the facility the entire time you are in surgery. Most patients have someone come with them or drop them off and have that same person come back and pick them up following the procedure. You can make whatever arrangements are most comfortable to you.
